      Job summary

1 Teaching Fellow Posts- UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION

      Fixed Term: 75% Teaching & 25% Clinical

The main aim of the posts is two-fold. Firstly, to provide clinical training to the Imperial Undergraduate Teaching Programme with an opportunity to gain experience in teaching. This post will provide ample opportunity for audits and there may be an opportunity for research for the appropriate candidate in any desired topic or medical education. The numbers of students based here varies throughout the year. At times there may be greater teaching commitments and at others (particularly June & July) it may be considerably less when the TF may devote much more time to clinical activities and towards pursuing an educational qualification. Thus, flexibility and initiative are essential. The postholder is encouraged to pursue a qualification in teaching and support is available for this through Imperial College. The teaching component of the posts will be accountable to the Director of Clinic Studies.

      Main duties of the job

The individual work plan will be decided between the DCS, the relevant Consultant the successful appointee. Teaching duties must take priority, it is not acceptable to work a night on call and take the next day off. They will be expected to attend regular Faculty Meetings.

There are no on-calls in this position

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
