- 90% $21.92 hour to start
- 95% $23.14 hour at 6 mos. with satisfactory performance
- 100% $24.36 hour at 1 year with satisfactory performance
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
- Texas driver’s license in good standing as defined by Texana Center’s procedure.
- Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness.
- 1 year providing supported employment services.
- Spanish speaking.
- Must be able to perform SAMA and CPR.
- Must be able to perform moderate lifting and carrying (15-44#), pushing, stooping, repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, sitting and twisting.
- Must have ability to see, write, operate office equipment, operate a motor vehicle and have depth perception.
- Qualified individual must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Role Responsibilities
The Supported Employment Specialist is a Care Coordinator who provides supported employment services to individuals diagnosed with chronic, serious mental illness. The position provides supported employment services to adults as part of an interdisciplinary team and is an active participant in team staff meetings. Services are provided primarily in community-based settings and involves conducting assessments, marketing to businesses via outreach, employment skills building, and follow up services as needed.
Routine hours are 8:00 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday with flexibility for schedule changes to allow for appointments outside of routine hours. Must have reliable vehicle for transportation with mileage paid. The Care Coordinator reports directly to the ACT Team Lead and is responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of compliance policy. This position may complete other duties as assigned.
