      Job summary

      As a Care Home Assistant at a Barchester care home, you'll carry out a range of tasks that help provide quality care for the residents. You'll have the opportunity to work in various areas such as care, housekeeping, and catering, gaining a diverse set of skills. Your role will involve delivering a warm and homely atmosphere, ensuring the residents' needs are always the top priority.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Care Home Assistant, you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall care and well-being of the residents. This includes cooking meals, maintaining a clean and well-kept environment, and spending one-on-one time with the residents. You'll need excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as a positive, can-do attitude. Previous experience in care, housekeeping, or catering is preferred, but comprehensive training will be provided.

No two days will be the same as you take on diverse responsibilities across care, housekeeping and catering. You'll get plenty of variety and will be able to develop a broad range of skills along the way. Whether you're cooking up meals, keeping our environment well-maintained or spending one-to-one time with our residents, you'll be delivering a warm and homely atmosphere where they always come first. If you find yourself drawn to one of the areas you work in, we'll make sure you have the opportunity to progress there full-time.

You should be practical and willing to turn your hand to different tasks, ready to adapt to all sorts of different situations.
