      Job summary

      Two positions are available; One is permanent and the other is 12 month maternity cover however this is likely to be made permanent due to a upcoming retirement

      We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature, and an aptitude for great customer service. We provide supportive training and mentoring and look to develop our team to their full potential.

      Main duties of the job

      You will have the ability to work in a demanding environment and be committed to offering the best possible care to patients and excellent support to our clinical team. Experience of working within Primary Care is essential and knowledge of Systmone desired however not essential.

      We are a 6-partner training General Practice based in Guisborough, Cleveland looking to recruit an enthusiastic experienced receptionist/administrator to join our existing team to make a difference to the care of our patients

      We have a list size of nearly 11,500 and we continue to grow. We are fortunate to work with a lovely team who create a supportive environment to work in.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences

      Issue repeat prescriptions in line with protocol

      Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records

      Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

      As required support in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently

      Provide administrative support within clinics (Influenza or Child Immunisations)

      Ensure that start of the day procedures (opening up) and end of the day procedures (closing and securing the practice) are completed appropriately.

      Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system

      1. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
      2. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
      3. Signpost patients to the correct service
      4. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
      5. Read code data on Systmone as per the practice workflow
      6. Photocopy documentation as required
      7. Provide administrative support for the GPs and Nurses
