      Main duties of the job

      The post holder carries out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse.

      To assist the nursing staff in the care of the patient and reporting any concerns to the Registered Nurse.

      To work as an integrated member of the ward team, assisting with nursing procedures according to agreed policies

      To maintain the patient's dignity and self-respect at all times and achieving a high standard of care

      To be aware of the Health and Safety aspects of staff and patients

      To be flexible to work in different areas within the unit as required

      Following appropriate instruction organise own day to day work tasks and activities

      Learn from the patient experience to constantly drive up standards is paramount. Thepost holder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of care is deliveredand will constantly promote: patient safety, effective care and a positive patient experience at each stage of the patient's journey.
