- Enroll eligible participants and coordinate appropriate work experience sites related to Hurricane Helene disaster recovery.
- Maintain accurate and complete participant files in compliance with grant documentation requirements.
- Track participant progress, maintain regular contact, and document all interactions and case notes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collect and manage required documentation, including training plans, worksite agreements, evaluations, and timesheets.
- Provide information and referrals to community agencies to help participants address barriers to employment.
- Identify participant strengths and challenges to support individualized employment and training goals.
- Conduct outreach both virtually and in person to engage participants and partners.
- Enter and manage data in the designated tracking system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
- 1-2 years of experience in similar role.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Intermediate computer skills required.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Excellent critical thinking and time management skills.
- Must understand other organization’s policies.
- Must be an active listener and have excellent soft skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and understanding of deadlines.
- Understanding of HIPPA and the importance of confidentiality.
- Must be able to travel over 75%, as needed within Watauga and Ashe counties, with occasional travel to other counties.
- Must have valid driver's license and personal vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed.

Job Description
The NCWorks Career Navigator II/Case Manager – Disaster Recovery is responsible for managing a caseload of participants served under the National Dislocated Worker Grant (NDWG). This position supports individuals and employers impacted by Hurricane Helene and related recovery efforts by delivering comprehensive case management services, including eligibility determination, enrollment, referrals, career planning, and follow-up. The Case Manager ensures accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
This is a grant-funded opportunity with a projected end date of June 30th, 2026.
Key Job Responsibilities
Education
Associate's degree, or minimum of 1-2 years' experience in lieu of degree required.
