  At the Louisiana State Museum, founded in New Orleans in 1906, is a statewide system of National Historic Landmarks and modern structures across Louisiana, housing thousands of artifacts and works of art reflecting Louisiana's legacy of historic events and cultural diversity.
  
  We’re seeking a Carpenter Foreman to take charge of high-impact carpentry projects, guiding a dedicated crew of Carpenters, Masters, and Apprentices. From overseeing major structural repairs to crafting custom woodwork and interpreting complex blueprints, you'll be at the helm of every phase — planning, estimating, executing, and inspiring.
  

  This position will be filled as a promotion; you must be a current permanent employee of the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, serving in a Classified position, in order to qualify.

  Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
  
  Four years of experience or training in the carpentry trade.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here .Job Duties:
  The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for the supervision and oversight of scheduling, reviewing, installing, repairing, and maintaining all carpentry tasks as related to the Louisiana State museum system.
  
  
  Position-Specific Details:

  Work Schedule: This is a fulltime position; overtime and travel may be required.
