- Constructs, repairs, restores, and installs woodwork and related materials such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs.
- Constructs, repairs, restores, and installs structures including electrical installations and some plumbing.
- Installs hinges, knobs, locks, closures, and other fixtures to doors and structures.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area/shop, cleans and returns tools and equipment.
- Cleans work site area after each job.
- Operates a variety of hand tools and performs hands-on preventative maintenance of these tools.
- Implements and follows all safety regulations.
- Maintains and operates state vehicles according to State Motor Vehicle regulations.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to carpentry trade.
- Knowledge of cabinet making techniques.
- Skill in estimating time and material requirement of work projects assigned.
- Skill in construction, repair, restoration, and installation of wood related materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Lift a minimum of 20lbs to a maximum of 50lbs.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Journeyman level position. Completion of a high school education or an equivalent combination of apprenticeship program, technical training and/or experience.
- Completion of a four (4) year federally approved technical training program in carpentry o OR six (6) year of carpentry experience.
