Overview We are seeking a full-time Cartography Technician in our Yarmouth, ME location. In this role, you will be responsible for completing well-defined basic tasks for the creation, edition, evaluation and maintenance of cartographic data for use in Garmin products, in compliance with established methodology and processes. Essential Functions Works as an entry level professional under close supervision of supervisor or mentor, following specific, detailed instructions and communicating status of work clearly to supervisor or mentor Creates, edits and/or maintains cartographic data using Garmin-proprietary and/or third-party software Completes well-defined basic cartography tasks Identifies/resolves simple issues using proper cartography techniques Submits work for peer review to ensure product integrity and acts on feedback Participates in cartographic data evaluation, processing and verification using established methodology Demonstrates drive to develop product/process enhancements on features and settings on assigned tasks Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Geosciences or related field OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience Basic working knowledge and understanding of digital cartographic principles relevant to Garmin’s business needs Proficient computer skills and familiarity with PC applications in a Windows environment Ability to learn/understand established processes/tools and apply them to daily tasks Good interpersonal and technical verbal/written communication skills, good organizational skills, and able to document work thoroughly and in an organized manner Enthusiastic attitude with a strong sense of commitment, accountability and urgency Ability to work professionally and in a positive/respectful manner with all stakeholders and able to work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve goals Ability to maintain focus on assigned tasks, share ideas freely/positively, and demonstrate a growth mindset/eagerness to learn Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
