Job Description

- Serves as a primary intake worker for human services.
- Gathers preliminary information for the screening of child protection, vulnerable adult, adult mental health, developmentally disabled and waiver program reports.
- Screens, explains available programs, and addresses questions of families/individuals requesting service information or resources.
- Provides referrals to other available resources in the community.
- Determines the need for other County department involvement or other entities (e.g. MN DHS, law enforcement, Office of Health Facility Complaints, etc.).
- Determines jurisdiction of reports based on criteria and makes referrals to appropriate entity.
- Perform various SSIS duties:
- Serves as SSIS Coordinator and Mentor.
- Assists in assigning assessments and case management service referrals to social workers in absence of supervisors.
- Runs monthly/quarterly/yearly reports for social workers to ensure compliance with federal and state mandates.
- Acts as a liaison between the state and county with regards to SSIS.
- Attends regional and state meetings to stay informed regarding procedures, issues, changes, etc. and provide information to County personnel.
- Makes recommendations regarding changes in operational procedures pertaining to SSIS operations.
- Monitors users concerns and issues regarding SSIS and user application performance.
- Sets up plans for new user orientation.Provides in-house training on SSIS.
- Troubleshoots daily application issues and questions.Handles SSIS helpline calls.
- Identifies users requiring additional training.
- Resolves and addresses error messages and works with users to correct errors in SSIS.
- Receives SSIS bug alerts and makes database adjustments on system, when appropriate.
- Performs security administration and maintenance on the SSIS system
- Monitors data interface in SSIS between other systems.
- Acts as a liaison between social services staff, MN DHS, IT Department in regards to technical problems with SSIS issues.
- Performs various IV-E program duties to include:
- Sets up and retains IV-E eligibility files for auditing purposes.
- Reviews information in court order and determines if program requirements are met.
- Monitors data entry of SSIS screens (e.g. eligibility and reimbursability) and handles submissions of data to MAXIS.
- Alerts Director to begin contempt court processes if payments not received timely.
- Determines and monitors IV-E eligibility using criteria collected from eligibility workers and social workers.
- Coordinates training on IV-E for agency staff and county attorney/court services staff.
- Performs a variety of records management and staff support functions:
- Assists in purging SSIS records and archiving records in accordance with retention policies and procedures.
- Initiates and monitors communication of child placement occurrences between department units (e.g. social services, child support, accounting, financial services, DOC, etc.).
- Distributes and monitors correction reports in SSIS to ensure the completeness and accuracy of reports..
- Enters and ensures all documentation activities are recorded in the appropriate system utilized by the agency
- Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required or assigned by supervisor.
- Composes statistical operations relevant to agency programs and procedures.
- Composes correspondence and constructs reports as needed
- Attends various training sessions, staff meetings, etc.

Under the general direction of the Social Services Supervisor, the Case Aide II acts as the primary intake worker assessing needs of families/individuals/applicants; gathering information for the screening of child protection, vulnerable adults, adult mental health, developmentally disabled and waiver reports. Enters accurate and detailed information into SSIS system. Serves as SSIS Coordinator for the department providing training and liaison between the county and state concerning use, policies and procedures.
Interviews planned for February 12 or 13.
A valid MN Driver's license. High School Diploma. SSIS Training; Child Protection Focus Training, Vulnerable Adult-Common Entry Point Training; SSIS Fiscal Training, can be obtained following hire.
