      Candidates who are successfully employed as Case Aide for four (4) years will be eligible to apply for a promotional opportunity to a DCS Specialist Trainee Position ($21.7068 hourly).

      WHAT DOES A CASE AIDE RECORDS ASSISTANT DO?

      Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager a Case Aide Record Assistant is responsible for fleet management, data entry, inventory, responsible to in person care of children 0-17 and young adults 18-20 who are in the transitional or awaiting placement with an out of home caregiver. The essential functions of the position is as follows:

      • Assists clients with application processes; provides case assistance to participants involved in child safety services
      • Engages, observes and interacts with children to include, but not limited to performing lice treatments, changing diapers, assisting with potty training, bathing young children and providing comfort
      • Provides trauma informed care to children and young adults
      • Provides clerical support to staff and clients
      • Transports children to their respective placement
      • Performs housekeeping functions to include, but not limited to laundry, cleaning dishes, preparing meals (for all ages) and cleaning tasks.
      • DCS Hard case file management, organization, and purging. Document Management of electronic case records in computer-based Case Management System. Completes redactions and disclosures of court documents; performs clerical tasks as needed.

      WHAT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES ARE HELPFUL?

      Knowledge of:
      • Impacts of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and techniques needed to support individuals that have experienced adversity.
      • Trauma Informed Aare Approach
      • Child development stages.
      • Computers and software (Microsoft Office Suite), mobile devices, digital calendars (Outlook) & video conferencing (Microsoft Teams).


      Skill in:
      • Teamwork and collaboration.
      • Engaging children and young adults.
      • Time management and multi-tasking
      • General clerical functions such as data enter and note taking.
      • Verbal and written communication.
      • Modeling professional behavior with those served.


      Ability to:
      • Understand and adhere to related state, Federal and local laws as well as DSC policies and procedures.
      • Maintain boundaries
      • Follow moderately complex written and oral instructions.
      • Perform quality documentation.

      WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A CASE AIDE-RECORDS ASSISTANT?

      • High school diploma or GED
      • Valid driver’s license.
      • Level one Fingerprint Clearance card - Arizona.

      Selected candidates must be able to pass a background investigation and DCS Central Registry check.
      Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12)

      RETIREMENT:

      All DCS positions participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
      • Enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment.
