- Provide exceptional customer service and collaborate effectively with daytime inpatient and outpatient Care Coordinators & Care Managers, facilities and individual HCPs to ensure proper access and utilization of benefits.
- Participate in implementing tasks related to increasing holistic approach to management of customer cases including meaningful engagement, aftercare follow-up planning, outpatient specialty programming and integration of services with matrix partners.
- Delivers information about the Behavioral Specialty Programming to customers. The Behavioral Specialty Programming includes the following: Intensive Care Management, Coaching & Support for Children & Families, Coaching & Support for Young Adults and Medical Integration. This also includes the CLIMB program (Changing Lives by Integrating Mind and Body).
- Provides information resources to customers, family members, facilities, and HCPs on an as-needed basis to assist with problem solving or clarifying aspects of their mental health system (e.g. benefits, claims and community resources).
- Contributes constructively in team meetings and with matrix partners in a manner to enhance relationships and to improve communication and procedures relevant to team functioning.
- Performs additional tasks/projects as needed, requested or assigned.
- Attends all required trainings and adheres to all regulatory mandates impacting utilization review and accreditation procedures.
- Complies with all Cigna Behavioral Health policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provides collaborative/cross-functional backup to other team members, other teams, other departments to support current Behavioral Operations workflows/protocols.
- Takes initiative for continued professional development.
- In all interactions, when necessary and appropriate, will be clear with client, customer, and HCP regarding the employee’s credentials.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health services setting
- Clear understanding of products and services delivered by Cigna
- Preferred knowledge/experience with all behavioral health products and their platforms (i.e. CAMS/DG, TruCare, CCMS)
- Strong passion for speaking to & assisting customers improve their health, well-being and sense of security
- Ability to obtain information from facilities, HCPs, customers electronically and telephonically
- Partner and collaborate with customers and HCPs for a better treatment outcome
- Requires interpersonal skill, judgment, ability to process through change effectively
- Requires the ability to prioritize, switch-task, and organize workload independently
- Ability to take direction and work under supervision concerning all job tasks

This position is responsible for supporting a variety of behavioral operations utilization and case management functions including providing telephonic education, support and referrals to various health and wellness programs to customers from all lines of business for inpatient & outpatient services.
