Job Description
- Req#: 8276
- Review, assess and render decisions through the development of proactive case management strategies to bring claims to successful resolutions.
- Collaborate with members, reinsurers, medical practitioners and providers to obtain claims documentation.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business and identify possible accommodations.
- Provide updates as to claims status and respond to inquiries.
- Review complex and differing policy wordings to ensure decisions are made within the policy’s scope.
- Communicate decisions verbally and in writing in an effective and empathetic manner.
- Coordinate rehabilitation and other services to assist with sate, successful and sustainable return to work.
- Maintain accurate records of all claim information
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary degree in an Allied Health Professional field including Athletic Therapy, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Medical Assistant or Psychology is required or an equivalent combination of experience working in the medical field or completing NIDMAR courses
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years’ providing complex customer service over the phone and/or in person.
- Bilingual (read/write/converse) in French is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service orientation
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities among competing deadlines while maintaining service standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify relevant information and potential impacts.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and review potential impacts through analysis of numerous source data and to select and implement best solutions
- Ability to work onsite in the office during 8-12 week training period, starting mid September

- Number of hours per week: 37.5
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.
- Location: Winnipeg. You must be available to work in office Monday to Friday for the duration of the 8-12 week training period starting mid September. After training is complete, we offer a flexible/hybrid work environment where you will work in the office 2 days or 15 hours per week.
- Salary: Starting salary is $57,500 with an opportunity to increase to $60,000 after the training period is successfully completed.
