    • Must be skilled in supporting staff to assist clients in taking an increasingly self-determining role in home, school, and community contexts as they transition to community independence.
    • High problem-solving skills within the scope of customer service and clinical service.
    • Perform day-to-day case maintenance, which includes all clerical responsibilities related to the promptness of packet submission and the receipt of service authorization from all identified funders/insurances, etc.
    • Responsible for the tracking and collection of documents to secure authorizations from all insurance carriers and collect all regulatory documents
    • Ensure the timely development and implementation of individual treatment plans as well as monitoring packets to ensure compliance with, but not limited to federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Conduct service intakes for clients.
    • Work with a consultant pool to ensure appropriate staffing of caseloads.
    • Meet with the Interagency Team, including the child/family, to develop a summary of care.
    • Coordinate and oversee delivery of services delineated in plan of care summary whereby individualized plans can be carried out.
    • Assists in the placement of staff, assuring the quality and training requirements along with credentialing of staff for patient needs.
    • Assuring appropriate scheduling for clinical staff for a patient’s needs.
    • This job requires some walking, standing, and sitting. Good vision and attention to detail, clear articulation of instructions and good listening skills are required.

    • At the present time, a vacancy exists for a Case Specialist within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The Case Specialist is part of the Home and Community Services Department and will be responsible for overseeing all clerical related details on their caseloads. Due to the nature and location of the services provided, the incumbent will have a mid-level of “freedom to act” which will require a person who is self-energized, self-reliant, and able to make decisions within the arena.

      SUMMARY OF POSITION:
      This is a 260-day project staff position whose main responsibility is to coordinate and oversee the authorizations and services for the Intensive Behavior Health Services’ program and other related Home & Community Services program services. This position will be responsible to update and maintain all insurance authorizations and case information in the Electronic Medical Record. The Case Specialists works with the family and the clients to initiate and maintain IBHS services. This position meets regularly with coordinators, supervisors, secretaries, and case management to communicate amongst departments to ensure a smooth process for families. This position will assist in the staffing of all cases assigned on their caseload and provide the program coordinators an update on potential open staffing needs. Additionally, this position will take an active role in promoting and expanding the H&CS program.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      SALARY:
      Project Staff, Band 11, Nonexempt
      $45,863 - $57,329
      *salary determined by years of experience in a similar role

      SCHEDULE:
      Monday - Friday; 7.5 hrs/day; 260 days/year
