Job Description

- Provides accurate and knowledgeable transactions on the register, including exchanges, returns, gift cards, sale items, credit cards, fishing licenses, and other transactions
- Knowledgeable about our return and exchange policy; contacts Supervisor or Manager when appropriate or necessary
- Presents a friendly, helpful and patient attitude towards every customer
- Provides professional and courteous service towards employees and customers in person and over the phone
- Assists customers as appropriate with questions and concerns
- Pages for assistance when a customer needs help with merchandise to their car
- Documents necessary transactions as appropriate
- Contributes to cleaning and stocking of the register area
- Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position
- Adheres to company policies and procedures
- Performs duties as workload necessitates
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude
- Communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
- Meets department productivity standards
- Adheres to safety rules and procedures
- Assists with loss prevention as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous experience with Point of Sale (Eagle/Epicor) preferred but not required
- Must have basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Must be able to learn the company telephone system
- Ability to understand POS/computer-generated reports
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations required (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Ability to write professional correspondence
- Ability to work successfully both independently (self-motivated) and as part of a team
- Strong personal, interactive communication skills required

- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The ideal candidate will be available to work 7:30 am - 4:30 pm during the week and one weekend day. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to work this schedule through the summer, after the summer and throughout the year.
Position Summary
Responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers, performing register transactions, and answering customer questions. Must be available to work at least one weekend day. Part-time employees work 30 hours or less each week. Full-time employees work 32 or more hours each week.
