Job Description
- Req#: 3250
- Welcoming and greeting customers. Answering and routing incoming phone calls. Providing payment for customers and ensuring details on the payment are correct.
- Manage the flow of inbound and outbound shipments; accurately scale in and out trucks. Check weights on each shipment. Assist drivers with axel weights.
- Record logs and prepare paperwork for all shipments including inbound, outbound, and yard transfers.
- Communicate with the processing yard on shipments within the facility; communicate specific needs for certain loads.
- Various other tasks will be required and assigned as needed for continuous flow of operations inside and outside the office.
- Create and maintain a safe work environment. Follow SIMS Metal Management and OSHA safety requirements in all aspects of the day-to-day operations.
- Cashier/Customer Service Preferred
- Scale Operation Experience Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred'

Pay Range: $21 - $23 Per Hour
Job Summary:
The Cashier is a key role in the receiving and sale of scrap metal. The primary function is scaling in and out trucks for inbound and outbound shipments. The role of the Cashier is the beginning and end yard component of processing scrap metal by having regular communication with internal and external customers, third party transportation, and other key departments such as the commercial and production teams.
