      Job Description

      Student Accounts Representative exists to receive and maintain the records of student payments for tuition, general receipts, financial aid disbursement, tuition waivers, refunds and other payments so that funds are handled and accounted for properly and accurately under general supervision. The incumbent processes cash, check, credit card, and electronic deposit transactions at a teller window. Provides customer service to Minneapolis College students on any matter related to their financial accounts. Work requires processing complexity (number and variety of transactions and/or accounts). Customer service work also includes explaining financial, collection and enrollment policy and procedures. Customer service contact includes in-person, phones, and other correspondence.

      Salary Range:

      "Cashier": $21.90 - $29.65 hourly / $45,727 - $61,909 annually

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Knowledge of basic financial accounting and the technical skills necessary to carry out the cashiering function, and other assigned duties in accordance to laws, policies and procedures for handling and depositing of state funds.

      • Proficiency with personal computers and software including Microsoft Office and e-mail.

      • Interpersonal/human-relations skills sufficient to provide information in a tactful manner.

      • Excellent customer service skills.

      • Ability to work in multiple types of database environments.

      • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.

      Other Requirement

      Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.

      Work Shift

      Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m.

      Telework

      This position may be eligible for partial telework per the Minneapolis College's Telework Guidelines.
