Job Description

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Allied health associates or bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum two years of medical training or allied health related field experience
- Experience in casting, splinting, taping/bracing preferred
- Certification preferred - ex. OTC, ATC
- Provide patient care, treatment, and service in a continuous and coordinated manner, in settings appropriate to meet patient needs
- Educate patients in relation to their home medical equipment to facilitate safe and effective equipment use and desired care, treatment, and service outcomes
- Promote safe, effective patient and organizational environments and equipment use
- Obtain, utilize, and update patient information in a confidential and secure manner for utilization in patient care and billing applications
- Recognize and implement infection control practices that reduce the risk of infections in patients and organizational staff
- Provides DME/Casting Orthopaedic care to patients within the clinic as needed for scheduled coverage
- Prepares Casting rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
- Accommodate patient volume by assigning/changing staff for maximum patient flow and minimum patient wait times
- Review and maintain the inventory management system
- Keeps an open line of professional communication with assigned staff and providers regarding patient needs
