      Description

      Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to one calendar year for part-time employees.

      Duties and Responsibilities
      This position will collaborate, organize, and manage the UH Manoa College of Education (COEd) and Hawaii Association for Independent Schools (HAIS) partnership related to the Master’s Degree Private Leadership Program. This partnership is designed to meet the needs of administrators, teachers, and staff members in private, independent and international schools. This Master’s program is a joint effort between COE Educational Administration (EDEA), Educational Foundations (EDEF) and Shidler College of Business.

      • Serve as the liaison between COEd faculty in EDEA and EDEF and HAIS advisory group;
      • Conduct meetings with designated COE faculty and HAIS to discuss issues pertaining to schedule of courses, feasibility of weekend options, organizing faculty and instructors, and to assessment data collection;
      • Communicate with COEd faculty, HAIS membership, and potential candidates on application process;
      • Facilitate admission and registration processing at UH Manoa;
      • Provide academic advising;
      • Ensure that assessment data are collected and analyzed on a semesterly basis;
      • Serve as a contact (preliminary advisor) for candidates in the program;
      • Coordinate summer intensive course offerings, which include consulting with Shidler College of Business;
      • Facilitate the marketing and recruitment of candidates from HAIS, Charter Schools, and other independent schools;
      • Provide readers for Master’s Plan B papers;
      • Provide final written strategic planning initiatives encompassing the next 5 years;
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education or related field.
      2. Experience in coordinating educational programs.

      Desirable Qualifications:
      1. Possession of an advanced degree in Education or related field.
