      ****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai’i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or Instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to one calendar year for part-time employees.****

      Temporarily, Part-Time (75% FTE) position with the University of Hawai‘i (UH) at Manoa,
      College of Engineering, working on multiple projects, including 1)Toward Vision Zero:
      Sensing, Predicting, and Preventing Intersection Collisions, 2) Polit Connected
      Automated Vehicle System Investigations for Enhanced Safety and Mobility of Seniors
      and Individuals with Disabilities in Hawaii, and 3) the other cybersecurity-transportation
      projects. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs,
      satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable
      Federal/State laws.


      Duties and Responsibilities
      Conducts research focusing on AI data analytics, cybersecurity literature synthesis which includes: Analyzing traffic data, preparing training datasets for AI-based traffic sensing model development, reviewing cybersecurity-transportation related literature, synthesizing the latest cybersecurity research development, preparing for technical reports and journal/conference publications. Assists with research grant applications. Works with graduate students on relevant research projects.

      Minimum Qualifications
      - Master from an accredited college or university in Data Analytics or related field.
      - 1-2 years experience in research in an academic setting.
      - Knowledge of data science and data analytics

      Desirable Qualifications
      - Ability to develop, design, and conduct AI training dataset development;
      comprehensively synthesize existing literature, analyze experimental data, and
      work collaboratively to draft technical reports and scientific papers for
      professional conferences and journal publications
