Department Overview The Interpretive Services department facilitates effective communication in health care across linguistic and cultural differences,. Professional ASL, Hmong, Laotian, Somali, and Spanish interpretors are on staff and provide services 24 hours-a-day, 7-days a week for patients at Children's. Position Summary Provides interpretation services during patient encounters. Provides sight translation services to patients and staff members as needed while assisting with paperwork. Provides over-the-phone interpretation for Children's families and staff. Facilitates communication across cultural differences. Adheres to NCIHC medical interpreter standards of practice and code of ethics. Responds to emergent needs and assist teams. Supports the Interpreter Services Department at Children's through working constructively in a team, participating in program functions, and performing tasks as requested by the department Supervisor and Manager.About the company
