Job Description

Run catastrophe models and price a significant volume of reinsurance contracts
Write logic/SQL code to process data for modeling
Interact with underwriters and provide analytical support on contracts
Work on improving and automating modeling workflow
Bachelor's degree with a focus on computer science, mathematics, or related field
Desire to work in the reinsurance / insurance industry
Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
Proficient understanding of logic/programming/coding skills (such as SQL, Python, R, VBA)
Relational database knowledge preferred
Understanding of probability and statistics is a plus
Excellent communications skills
Strong attention to detail

Job Summary:
Our Facultative Reinsurance department is seeing great opportunities to expand into new markets. To support this growth, the Actuarial Cat Modeling Department of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Data Analyst / Catastrophe Modeler to join our Warren, New Jersey office. This is a hybrid position working 3 days onsite, 2 remote.
This role will be primarily responsible for analyzing catastrophe risk using models and pricing submissions for all Facultative business units within the company. This position will also be involved in automation projects, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives, all serving to improve the cat modeling workflow and streamline the end-to-end-pricing process for both underwriters and modelers.
