      Job Description Summary:

      Provides scientific expertise and leadership in the calibration and analysis of CATE 2024 total solar eclipse observations. Supports the development of the CATE data pipeline for the production of high-level data products, including fully coaligned data from all CATE sites. Conducts scientific research using the CATE observations leading to peer-reviewed publications.

      Hiring Salary: $80,480

      What You Will Do

      Here is a brief summary of what one would expect to be generally responsible for in this role.

      • Development and implementation of the data pipeline that takes CATE 2024 raw data to the point of fully calibrated and coaligned data products.

      • Carries out scientific research using CATE observations.

      • Publishes scientific results in peer-reviewed journals and presents them at scientific conferences.

      • Prepares project reports and/or documentation as required

      Education and Experience (Required/Desired):

      • Ph.D. in Solar Physics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required/Desired)

      • Knowledge of solar physics, specifically the solar corona.

      • Extensive experience working with total solar eclipse observations.

      • Proficiency in computer languages, such as C/C++, Python, IDL, Fortran.

      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

      • Strong written and oral communication skills.
