Other divisions of Post include Post Consumer Brands (Cereal), Weetabix (Cereal – UK), Michael Foods (Foodservice), and 8th Avenue Food & Provisions (Private Label).       Responsibilities

      Position Overview


      The Category Analyst plays a pivotal role in execution of the Post Refrigerated Retail Business go to market strategy for assigned product portfolio. This person is primarily responsible for analyzing customer, market, and consumer insight data to build sound business recommendations and develop high quality supporting presentations. This person will supply relevant insights and recommendations, gathered from consumption data (IRI & AC Nielsen), shipment data, spending, and consumer insights for improved decision-making capabilities.

      The Category Analyst supports product sales objectives with cross functional teams in Sales, Trade and Brand Marketing. This role will drive product sales objectives for the Post Refrigerated Retail Business by equipping our internal and external teams with actionable insights to positively impact our categories and brands and drive strategies forward. Most project work will be completed will be ad hoc or project based.

      Accountabilities

      • Presentation Development
        • Assist in mining, organization, and development of data into compelling sales story for presentation to Customer Account Managers and/or Customers by developing actionable business insights.
      • Presentation Delivery
        • Communicate business opportunities and recommend action plans by collaborating with Customer Account Managers and/or Customers.
        • Assist in presenting insights, strategies, and tactics to business partners.
      • Project/Customer Management and Support
        • Participate with Post Refrigerated Retail Sales Team in identifying and presenting recommendations for category growth.
        • Maintain project status by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
        • Manage and maintain ongoing relationships for category management activities.
      • Data Evaluation/Interpretation and Application
        • Provide category management insights and actionable recommendations that drive category growth for customers.
        • Provide detailed category evaluation and recommendations in the areas of product assortment, placement, pricing, and promotion that will drive category sales.
        • Provide regular consumption updates with an assessment of brand, category, and market issues/opportunities.
      • Data Collection
        • Provide information for customers, field sales, and internal teams using syndicated or customer-specific data sources.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, training, and/ or experience in Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field required.
      • 1–3 years of relevant experience supporting category management or sales within a major organization
      • Experience using syndicated data tools such as Circana (IRI), Nielsen, 84.51°, Market6, Stratum, and Numerator
      • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
      • Ability to identify and leverage relevant data to develop solutions and make recommendations that address business opportunities and challenges
      • Consumer packaged goods (CPG) selling experience preferred
