      Description

      The Cattle Analyst is responsible for all cattle record keeping from the time the cattle arrive at the feedlot to the time they are shipped to the packer. This includes all receiving and owner/background information, feeding and veterinary record keeping, pen movements, deaths, shipments and final performance and financial information. The Cattle Analyst works very closely with the Feedlot Manager, Cattle Manager, Feed Manager, and customers.


      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Cattle Performance and sales
      • Grading; Closeout Reconciliation
      • Regular and Natural Cattle Closeout money
      • Regular and Natural Cattle Proceeds
      • Customer Breakeven preparation
      • Receiving and compiling information into various filing structures
      • Online databases and storage; Paperless office
      • Cross training on various other administrative jobs, including: Cattle desk at all feedyards, O/S Cattle Desk, WCC Cattle Desk


      Skills:

      • Basic computer experience in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
      • Basic accounting knowledge
      • Delivering and receiving information clearly and concisely in a professional manner
      • Personable
      • Able to work as part of a team
      • Organizational skills that facilitate efficiency and accuracy
      • Ability to reach and maintain deadlines

      Requirements

      Experience/Education: bachelor’s degree in business and/or accounting preferred. Other education and

      experience may be substituted.


      Travel: Travel required for training and administrative duties at company operations
