      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Independently prioritize and perform assigned duties and tasks related to the Clinical Documentation Improvement Project
      - Act as a liaison with specific department staff, physicians, residents, and mid-levels
      - Assist with the development and implementation of clinical documentation improvement processes
      - Collaborate with Medical Coding, Case Management, and other health team members to gather and analyze information for accurate medical record documentation
      - Utilize clinical expertise and coding knowledge to identify opportunities and ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Must have an RN or MD certification
      - Minimum 5 years' experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist, preferably with an Academic Medical Center
      - Ability to discuss medical diagnostic topics
      - Familiarity with coding as it relates to documentation
      - Experience working with EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass (CAC) software

      - Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with physicians and staff regarding clinical documentation
      - Ability to communicate with payers regarding medical necessity and level of care criteria for hospitalization
      - Strong prioritization skills to manage job responsibilities effectively
      - Proficiency in abstracting and interpreting medical information from patient records
      - Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations related to utilization review and discharge planning functions of government programs
