      Job summary

      The Cellular Pathology departments at West (Chichester) are looking for a Pathology Pathway Coordinators (PPC) to join our busy, friendly team.

      The Pathology Pathway Coordinator will be responsible for actively managing the administrative processes attached to pathology pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for multidisciplinary teams and patients, delivering a positive patient experience and excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.

      This is a 12 month fixed term post. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Please state within your application your preferred working site (Brighton or Chichester).

      Main duties of the job

      The PPC will be the primary contact of multi-disciplinary team (MDT) service users and attend all patient-tracking list (PTL) review meetings to support real-time availability and prioritisation of histopathology reports.

      The post holder will be required to work closely with other members of the administrative and clinical teams, including managers, administrators, nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and support workers, to actively manage the administrative processes attached to pathology pathways

      The post holder will be required to liaise with a range of staff internally within the Trust and externally with partners and external organisations

      Education and Experience

      Essential

      • Degree or NVQ Level 4 in business Administration
      • Knowledge of full range of administration procedures, acquired through training and previous experience of working in an administrative role
      • Experience of working within the NHS or other Healthcare setting
      • Demonstrable understanding of Cancer Wait Times and Faster Diagnostic Service
      • Evidence of advanced use of Microsoft packages including MS Word, Ms Excel and Ms powerpoint

      Desirable

      • Knowledge of cancer clinical audits
      • previous experience using Somerset cancer Register
      • Proven track record of working under pressure to strict deadlines
