What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Facilitate the procurement of insurance authorizations for ordered procedures and post-operative care
- Validate obtained authorizations and provide continuous education to a multi-disciplinary team
- Identify areas for performance improvement and implement process enhancements
- Serve as a centralized resource for authorization procurement across various sites of practice
- Communicate effectively with ordering physicians and procurement staff regarding authorization feedback
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting
- Two years of experience in healthcare insurance verification and/or billing
- Strong computer literacy and understanding of clinical terminology
- Ability to interpret RN or Physician notes to facilitate authorization procurement
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional coursework in business, computers, or healthcare administration
- Experience in a medical or surgical specialty clinic
- Current knowledge of hospital operations and managed care reimbursement
- Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including billing and coding
- Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
