Over the past year, various local agencies have been working together to form the Central Ohio Youth Sports Collaborative (COYSC), a group of partners (including the YMCA) dedicated to creating opportunities for access to sports, play and recreation for every child in Central Ohio.

- Establish systems that advance and sustain the sports-based youth development movement in Central Ohio.
- Launch pilot initiatives that test ways in which sports based youth development can reach new populations as scale and demonstrate outcomes that will influence public policy and resources.
- Enhance the capacity of Central Ohio Youth Sports Collaborative and other youth-serving organizations to provide high quality services on and off the field at a scale commensurate with community needs.
- Recruit, retain and facilitate a board of directors and staff to reach established goals.
- Develop positive long-term relationships with key partner organizations and stakeholders
- Develop a diverse, sustainable revenue base able to meet organizations needs and goals
- Oversee development of website and communication materials
- Introduce COYSC to external stakeholders
- Support, design and launch of Lines of Service
- Develop, present and effectively manage the annual budget
- Advocate for COYSC programs and policies with public sector decision makers and key stakeholders.
- Serve as key spokesman for the COYSC and the needs of COYSC
- Foster media relationships and represent COYSC at national and regional meetings and events
- Initiate and secure additional support from both public and private funding
- Develop value proposition for fee-for-service program offerings

Qualification:

• 10 or more years of professional experience in fields related to nonprofit, public advocacy and fundraising
• Experience with systems development
• Individual with established connections in the Central Ohio region
• Has displayed previous characteristics of action-oriented approach
• Experience with helping to launch and/or significantly expand a new undertaking
• Understanding of issues related to youth development in low income and underserved communities
• Experience building collaborative relationships in the nonprofit and public sector
• High energy with vision and a passion for sports and youth development
• Entrepreneurial person capable of building an organization and working without direct daily supervision
• Demonstrated track record of fund development to include local and national foundations, corporations and public sector
• Managerial expertise in budget management and development
