Job Description
- Req#: 9417
- Work within the Central Referral Management System to receive and manage referrals.
- Work to monitor the verification process for insurance coverage, pre-certification, prior authorizations, and medical records for all referrals.
- Accurately enter referral information into EMR and notify specialty practice staff of referrals awaiting scheduling.
- Provide customer service to address patient, hospital and provider inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Works together with other team members to achieve office and system customer service goals.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Education : High School Diploma
- Training and Experience : Minimum of one-year job-related experience. Customer service experience. MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Job Knowledge : Must organize and manage multiple priorities; excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Strong team player and commitment to organizational values.
- Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
- Physical Effort: Duties involve sedentary to light physical effort. Physical demands range from sitting, walking, standing, or pushing or pulling materials. Work may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.
Job Summary:
The Central Referral Specialist will be responsible for processing patient referrals via the Central Referral Management System. They will handle all incoming referrals, organize information, and facilitate the collection of missing information, obtain authorizations as needed, coordinate scheduling with individual specialties, and monitor the status of all referrals. This position involves direct contact with clinic staff via telephone as well as providing support and assistance in obtaining the medical, demographic information, as well as completing the preauthorization process.Job Duties:
