Job Description
- Req#: R-112657
- With limited direction, conducts engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Participate significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Contribute to project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
- Devise basic research methods and documents results and procedures.
- Operate process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles.
- Exercise responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company.
- Participate in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering, and at least three years relevant experience;
- Or: Masters degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering
- Experience processing ceramic materials including formulation, batching, forming, and densification.
- Experience with analytical techniques related to mechanical or electrical properties of ceramic materials.
- Experience with non-oxide ceramics preferred.
- Experience operating pressure-assisted furnaces and inert-environment furnaces preferred.
- Sound basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics, engineering science and ceramic processing.
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented person necessary.
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Annual Salary: USD 90,196.00 - USD 119,059.00Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
