      Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for Hand Therapy

      Hours Needed: As Needed Mon - Fri

      Location: 1499 6Th Street NW Winter Haven, FL 33881

      Pay Rate: Starting at $25+/hr. Starting salary calculated by experience.

We are seeking Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants with a minimum of one year of current experience in hand therapy and/or new grad with fieldwork in hand therapy for as needed coverage. We have additional hand therapists on staff able to support an occupational therapist or a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) in our upbeat outpatient team environment.

      COTA will treat various upper extremity disorders ranging from tendon injuries, sprains- strains, post- operative fractures, etc. Our population is primarily orthopedic injuries with referrals from hand and orthopedic surgeons.

      Best practices and evidence-based programs are utilized for individualized patient care. You will work closely with a (large) group of CHTs, working together in the region for support, education and schedule coverage. Our clinics are fully equipped to provide care to patients ranging from post-surgical, non-operative to work conditioning. You will have the opportunity to work closely with excellent hand surgeons.       Responsibilities

      • Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
      • Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
      • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
      • Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals
      • Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
      • Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies

      Qualifications

      • Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
      • National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED
      • Must have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients. In lieu of experience, new grad COTAs with fieldwork in hand therapy would be eligible.
      • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
      • Valid state driver’s license
