Job Description

- Support the ongoing activities of onsite PPG customer team at automotive production facility and communicate logically with initiative to understand customer concerns, collect data, take appropriate actions to prevent and resolve issues.
- Ensure plant operations are functional and provide the customer with proactive support.
- Communicate regular updates to PPG Technical and Account management, help direct the PPG onsite team activity and ensure EHS compliance.
- Provide resolutions to customer inquiries, application process monitoring, inventory, material ordering, and hands-on support; followed by a written daily shift report.
- Use mechanical aptitude to explain complex ideas across technical, production and non-technical personnel to satisfy customer requirements.
- Hold weekly meetings with technical experts to review weekly sample test reports.
- Engage daily with customer to provide feedback from data collected; answer questions and provide recommendations.
- Record weekly inventories and communicate with management for publication to customer and PPG internally.
- Use PPG digital tools (AIM, ETQ, SAM, Daily Dashboard as required).
- Be accountable to meet commitments and take ownership of responsible areas.
- Support any special projects to support PPG materials and plant initiatives.
- Provide sales support to maintain and expand business and ensure effective startup of new products.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years' experience with industrial coating technologies including basecoat/clearcoat systems, OEM Ecoat/Paint approval process and specifications, experience with other coatings layers is beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to work in customer production environment, around automated equipment, and be able lift 50 lbs. on a limited basis.
- Ability to work well within a team environment to meet challenges.
As a Certified Optima Solutions Professional - Automotive Coatings, you will represent PPG onsite at HMGMA (Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America) ensuring customer satisfaction by providing outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for both Plant and PPG goals to control parameter specifications and coatings quality. You will participate in continuous improvement team and problem-resolution meetings with Plant Operations and Management. You will report to the Optima Solutions Site Manager and work onsite at the HMGMA outside Savannah, GA.
