    • CREC Preschool @ Progress Drive in Wethersfield is seeking a Certified Pre-K Teacher, who will embrace and understand the natural development of children, as well as the close relationship they share with the environment. Candidates must have knowledge of the Preschool Assessment Framework and the CT Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDs). Under the general supervision of a School Principal, CREC Teachers facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students by creating a flexible, safe and culturally responsive learning environment. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans using the District's curriculum, providing instruction to students, participating on school-level teams and attending student and / or parent centered meetings.

      The following information only applies to current CREC employees:

      Seniority will continue to be determined according to the CRECEA contract. Priority for this position will be based on the following:
      · Seniority within the participating schools
      · Anyone from non-participating schools who requested internal transfer
      · Anyone currently teaching PreK at a CREC school
      All interested candidates are required to submit a letter of intent to the posting to be considered.

      Requirements:
      Must hold or be eligible for CT State of Connecticut Certification- Early Childhood Birth to Kindergarten (Endorsement 112) or Early Childhood Nursery-to-Grade 3 (Endorsement 113).
      Early childhood experience required and expertise in early literacy/numeracy preferred. Candidates must have knowledge of the ELDS and Preschool Assessment Framework. Previous pre-kindergarten public school teaching experience with a diverse population preferred.
