- The selected auditor will conduct a Manufacturing Process Audit (MPA) and/or ESG Compliance Audit at a clothing production facility. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating production processes, workflow efficiency, and operational bottlenecks.
- Assessing quality control measures, defect rates, and corrective actions.
- Reviewing material handling, inventory management, and fabric traceability.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, workplace safety standards, and sustainability initiatives.
- Conducting ESG compliance assessments, including environmental impact, ethical sourcing, and fair labor practices.
- Verifying workforce competency, training, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Preparing a comprehensive audit report with findings, root cause analysis, and recommendations.
- Minimum 5 years in garment/clothing manufacturing audits, including ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance.
- Strong familiarity with textile production processes, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and packaging.
- Knowledge of fabric composition, defects, and garment quality control standards (AQL, ASTM, ISO 9001).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methods.
- Expertise in ESG compliance, sustainability practices, and ethical labor standards in textile manufacturing.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SA8000, or GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) compliance is a plus.
- Familiarity with OEKO-TEX® certification, Fair Trade, and Higg Index sustainability assessments preferred.
- Clothing and textile manufacturing, with direct experience in auditing production workflows, quality control, ESG compliance, and sustainability efforts.
- Knowledge of U.S. labor laws, OSHA workplace safety regulations, ethical sourcing policies, and supply chain traceability.
- Contract Type: 1099 contract (Part Time)
- CURRENT OPPORTUNITY is single audit assignment (estimated 1-2 days on-site, plus reporting).
- Shift Hours: Standard business hours (exact timing to be coordinated). May include full-day shifts or partial-day inspections based on project needs.
- Work Location: Vernon, CA 90058 - in an Apparel Manufacturing, Textile Production
