- Previous experience in community mental health and addictions settings, healthcare and/or academic settings is required.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and writing content for the web is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, curriculum development, and emerging learning technologies is required.
- Previous experience creating e-learning courses and familiarity with Learning Management Systems, such as Moodle, is required.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct literature reviews (search, identify, and synthesize relevant evidence) is required.
- Understanding of health inequities and social determinants of health, and demonstrated commitment to principles of engagement, equity, inclusivity and anti-racism are required.
- Knowledge of the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in training and education is required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication (oral/written), creative problem-solving abilities and organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner, as well as collaboratively in a team setting is required.
- Advanced proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and web conferencing programs such as WebEx is required.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.

Provincial System Support Program
The Provincial System Support Program (PSSP) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) works with communities, service providers, government, and system partners, including Ontario Health's Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence (CoE) to move evidence to action and create sustainable change in Ontario’s mental health and addictions system. With expertise in implementation, knowledge mobilization, evaluation, equity, lived experience engagement, and data management, PSSP is on the ground across the province, collaborating with a wide variety of health and social care partners, to build a stronger, more equitable and more accessible mental health care system.
Position Description
The Provincial System Support Program (PSSP) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking to fill a full-time, temporary (18 months) CH&E Specialist - KMb & Learning Enrichment to plan, design and develop curricula for trainings, workshops, and other forms of capacity building initiatives for addiction and mental health service providers. Reporting to the Manager - Project Integration & Team Development, the Specialist will apply learning theories and instructional design models to the development of course content and activities. They will develop scenario-based learning, and will create engaging learning activities that include branching scenarios and high-fidelity simulations to enhance the learning process. The Specialist will be familiar with best practices, innovations, research, theories, technologies, and trends in the education field and will apply this to their work.
The Specialist will engage with colleagues in conducting needs assessments and environmental scans, defining educational goals, objectives, and methodologies, and determining training formats. The Specialist will collaborate with other team members, subject matter experts and other internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple aspects of work simultaneously, and work independently, as well as with a diverse team. The successful candidate will support a workplace that embraces equity, diversity and inclusion, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.
This position is situated at 33 Ursula Franklin Street, and will include remote work/work from home with a requirement of minimum 2 days/week in office, depending on geographic location in the province.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, or a related discipline, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the fields of mental health and addictions clinical practices, and/or education/knowledge sharing. Preference given to candidates with an educational background in psychology or social work (and/or be a member of a regulated health profession).
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Please Note: This full-time, temporary (18 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.Salary Range: $35.81 - $48.30 per hour
