      Overview

      The Chaplain Residents work as a core part of an inter-faith spiritual care team, supporting persons of diverse socio-economic, religious and cultural backgrounds while adhering to hospital and departmental policies. In addition to providing spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, guests and staff at the Raleigh campus of WakeMed Health & Hospitals, duties include participating in educational seminars and completing written requirements assigned by the ACPE Certified Educators who make up WakeMed's Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) faculty. Through clinical and educational experiences, Chaplain Residents engage in the integration of theology into praxis, developing a self-reflective practice and increasing self-awareness, knowledge and skills related to health care chaplaincy.
