- Provide and document quality spiritual support for patients and families on assigned units and departments, responding to emergency situations as needed..
- Provide sacramental services and pastoral presence to those in need.
- Attend to the spiritual and emotional needs of staff and other hospital personnel.
- Provide care which is informed by and respectful of religious diversity
- Provide ethical, spiritual and emotional consultations as needed.
- Represent department on appropriate committees, meetings and projects on an interdisciplinary basis as needed.
- Participate in regular departmental "on-call" rotation to provide after hours/weekend coverage.
- Plan, implement and conduct appropriate worship services.
- Support the department with general office duties, as necessary
Job Summary:
Under general direction, ministers to patients, families, and staff utilizing a holistic approach to the spiritual-psychological management of illness, crises, and problems. This position is a transitional role for a chaplain who is preparing for Board Certification within two years. This individual will also work with site volunteers, as needed.
Representative Job Duties:
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
Baccalaureate degree awarded by an accredited postsecondary institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, Master's degree in Divinity or equivalent degree incorporating theological education as required by endorsing body. Satisfactory completion of four (4) units of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
One year experience as a chaplain preferred.
Board Certification eligible by a National Certifying Agency recognized by the Spiritual Care Cognate Group (APC; CASC, NACC; NJC) or SCA.
