      THE THIRD FLOOR is the world’s leading visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London as well as on location with productions around the world. Since 2004, the studio has helped clients visualize and maximize content by producing computer-animated blueprints, known as “previsualizations”. The Third Floor is a fun, creative company founded by artists, for artists. We work on extremely high-profile projects, while maintaining a small studio culture. The company has won multiple Emmy and VES awards for its work. Clients include Disney, Marvel, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Universal, and more.

      The Third Floor is looking for enthusiastic Character Animators who have a passion for and are proficient in naturalistic animation, believable acting and dynamic physical mechanics. Working closely with your team’s leadership, you’ll be responsible to shoot reference and animate shots to facilitate the director’s vision. An ideal candidate is a strong collaborator with experience animating on 2’s, 3’s and 4’s in a fast paced environment.

      Full Time. Remote.
      Contract:
      ~ July 2025 - October 2025

      Must be in the state of California, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York (Outside NYC), Colorado, Washington, Virginia, or Canada for remote positions.

      Responsibilities:

      • Create believable hand keyed animation with characters, creatures, props, and vehicles based on previs, storyboards or launch descriptions.

      • Perform and shoot acting reference for visual roadmap to character performances and body mechanics.

      • Maintain a high consistent standard of quality and speed.

      Essential Skills:

      • Solid communication skills.

      • The ability to collaborate with team leadership, taking and implementing direction accurately and quickly.

      • Displaying a strong sense of weight, posing, flow, composition & appeal.

      • Displaying strong knowledge of motion, physics and principles of animation.

      • Creature Animation experience is a plus.

      • Experience in “limited animation” 2’s, 3’s and 4’s is a plus.

      Software Requirements:

      • Autodesk Maya

      • Bonus: Unreal Engine

      The pay scale is between $30 - 70/ hour, based on experience, skillset and other factors, plus additional Perks and Benefits.
