Job summary
Beechwood Ward is an 18 bedded, Older Person's Acute Admission Ward. We treat everyone in our care with dignity and humanity, we understand a person's individual needs, show compassion and sensitivity, whilst providing care in a way that respects all people equally.
We promote least restrictive practice and have a very experienced and diverse team on Beechwood ward. We have nurses from a variety of disciplines (adult, mental health and learning disabilities) and we have experience from older persons, adult acute, PICU, Child and learning difficulties.
As a Charge Nurse you will use your skills to work directly with service users by creating collaborative care plans & delivering these, contribute to Quality Improvement & service development, advocating for service users, engaging with their carers, & be an influential member of the ward team dedicated to multidisciplinary team working.
We know how important a work life balance is & so are open to flexible working requests. There is an expectation to work unsocial hours and to meet the needs of the service, but we welcome and consider applications for part time working and condensed hours.
Main duties of the job
*Take part in clinical and management supervision and attend all developmental training sessions.
*Take charge of a ward from time to time as allocated.
*Adhere to those stipulations as defined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
*Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team under the guidance and supervision of the Ward Manager and Nurse Team Leader.
*Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any specific clinical activity as appropriate.
*Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any professional issues as necessary.
*Report to, or assist/advise the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any matters of complaint.
