Job Description

- Providing and performing quality service to the clients of BreastCheck (Prevention and Screening) in an effective, efficient, and safe manner.
- Providing leadership to Senior mammography technologists relative to all aspects of program operations including training, scheduling, procedures and processes.
- Supporting collaborative relationships with all BreastCheck screening sites and Prevention and Screening team members to promote breast cancer screening and operations.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiological Technology education program.
- Successful completion of Breast Imaging 1 and Breast Imaging 2 through the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) courses
- Certificate in Breast Imaging (CBIS or CBID), Advanced Certification Radiology (ACR) or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in working in a Digital Imaging department using RIS, PACS, and EMR systems.
- Minimum of 3 years mammography experience, preferably in a digital environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of positioning and compression, clinical and technical factors - including body mechanics, radiation safety, radiation protection, and quality control – relevant to perform the duties
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to work independently, as well as a positive member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- A member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists - Manitoba (CAMRT-MB) or eligible to obtain and be an active member prior to start date
- Compliant with Canadian Association of Radiology (CAR) continuing education requirements for Mammography Technologists
- Must have a valid Manitoba Driver’s License. Must provide a current Driver’s License upon hire.
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required which may include lifting, bending, twisting.
- Must be able to work flexible work schedules including weekends & evenings, and willing to travel (drive and fly) to communities across Manitoba, including Northern and remote communities.
- Must have satisfactory employment record
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous experience in competency-based training or education
- Knowledge of Population Health and Screening Programs.
- Experience using Maxon BSP and PenRad.
- Ability to speak French
