      BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring Explosive Plant Operators in the RDX Finishing area at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN.

      This is a full time regular opportunity to join our team!

      We are seeking detail oriented and highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Production Operator. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring equipment in operation buildings, weighing and sampling material, shoveling blend material, the use of respirator, packaging, drying and the transportation of material.

      Physical Demands include: Working regularly with lightweight to average weight material. Handling up to sixty (60) pounds, maneuvering drums and climbing multiple levels of stairs.

      Mental and/or Visual Demands: Frequent mental and visual attention, where the flow of work is intermittent or the operation involves waiting for a machine or process to complete and cycle, process checking.

      WORKING CONDITIONS: Somewhat disagreeable working conditions, exposed to seasonal conditions, coveralls, safety shoes, plus other PPE required in areas. 12 hour rotating shifts.

      The Holston Army Ammunition Plant is a Tobacco Free Facility.

      Typically a High School Diploma or equivalent experience

      Required Skills and Education

      Required education: High School/GED
      1 year experience in a manufacturing or chemical manufacturing environment, large industrial manual labor.
      Excellent communication skills.
      Strong work ethic and organizational skills.

      Preferred Skills and Education

      Experience in inventory tracking
      Experience working a 12-hour rotating shift.
      Experience operating a PLC computer system.
      Experience in Explosives or Chemical Manufacturing
