Job Description

- Develop proper formulation and mixing procedures to ensure production of required products
- Perform quality control and physical testing of processed material for conformance to customer specifications
- Establish up-to-date material specifications on all raw materials and compounds
- Maintain lab standards and testing procedures
- Help review each order to ensure the correct formulation is on it.
- Review each raw material receiving report to confirm the proper code is applied and it meets the appropriate specifications.
- Interface with customers in developing compounds that have special requirements not been previously tested for.
- Participate in monitoring properties of compounds using statistical methods to improve quality and reduce scrap.
- Responsible for the disposition of all nonconforming stock.
- Strict attention to detail and precise documentation
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
- Bachelor’s degree with no minimum experience; an Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in rubber manufacturing or related field;, or at least 4 years of experience in rubber manufacturing or related field. . Degree preferably in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering.
- Knowledge of rubber testing equipment and standard measuring equipment is preferred
- Knowledge of quality control requirements
- Detail oriented and self-starter
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Use of a computer and other office equipment (telephone, scanner, printer, etc.)
- Moderate sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, reaching, stooping etc.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds; over 30 pounds with assistance.
- Occasional participation in testing or fabrication

POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensure materials and products meet in-house and customer quality and performance standards. Also, support manufacturing in areas of mixing, processing, and testing and perform research and development of new compounds.
