- Performs research or other professional and scientific work related to investigation, analysis, and interpretation of the composition, physical and chemical properties, molecular structure and chemical reactions of substances; the prediction of transformation they undergo; and the amount of matter and energy included in these transformations.
- Performs analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to manage projects related to human performance research, education and/or consultation.
- Determines how best to accomplish chemistry objectives, develops and evaluates alternatives, designs and conducts experiments, analyzes and interprets results, publishes papers and technical reports, delivers presentations of results, and monitors in-house activities.
- Prepares contractual documents, technical reports, and/or evaluates technical proposals if needed. Develops and maintains collaborations within and outside of AFRL.
- Maintains a technical and programmatic cognizance of outside technological and research projects and programs; reports status to peers and senior technical leaders as required.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: You must meet the following qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement and provide documentation to support your qualifications.

Must possess a professional Science or Engineering (S&E) Degree from an accredited academic institution.
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DR-01/GS-11 for the DR-02 or equivalent grade level. Specialized experience is experience providing the capacity and skills for working independently, leading collaborative events, working in teams and using these approaches to find and solve complex problems. Such experience may also include training, collaborative process facilitation, innovation design, writing background, editing job roles, continuous process improvement credentials, multi-agency liaison work, published work in refereed technical journals, and/or briefings to large groups.
- Must have OR be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 1 (Foundational) Non-Critical certification in Engineering & Technical Management (N). Applicants for this position must list any acquisition certifications and status as an acquisition corps member in their resume.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics. Or
- A combination of education and experience -- course work is equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
