MITRE Lab’s Energy, Environmental, Material and Chemical Sciences Department serves as a vanguard for MITRE to meet the future needs of our customers, requiring technical excellence while encouraging creativity and fostering interests in current and emerging technologies across its diverse employees.

Job Responsibilities--

• Assist in setting up experiments for battery testing, including configuring test cells, designing experimental plans, and carrying out data collection
• Conduct data analysis on battery cycling results to evaluate performance using standard analysis techniques and programming tools
• Support the preparation of reports on the performance of various batteries by contributing to the presentation of findings

Basic Qualifications--

• Must be a high school student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program with focus in Chemistry, Physics or a related program and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
• Laboratory skills in chemistry and/or a related science
• Programming proficiencies in Python or Matlab
• Sustained excellence in academic performance

Preferred Qualifications--

• Strong understanding of mathematical methods for data analysis
• Prior experience synthesizing organizing and reporting complex data topics
• Demonstrated interest in serving the public
• Experience working in a professional setting
• Ability to work both independently and in group settings
