Job Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Chief Advancement Operating Officer (CAOO) is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive and strategic, alumni and foundation member engagement, and advancement services programs for the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
The CAOO will manage and oversee advancement, foundation member, alumni, and constituent engagement, advancement services (which include the database management, prospect research, gift recording and reporting, foundation and college budget development and management, and general office operations), and MCLA Foundation financial volunteer management.
This position works closely with campus partners, such as Administration and Finance, Student Financial Services, Career Services, Athletics, Academic Affairs, and Enrollment/Community Relations to build smooth pathways for Institutional Advancement's friend and fundraising efforts to have significant impact on MCLA students and College programs.
The CAOO will manage the Finance and Internal Audit, Endowment and Trust, Gift Acceptance, Property, and Nominating Committees of the MCLA Foundation, Inc. and work with the Foundation President and other officers on operational matters and confidential financial business. In addition, collaborates and work closely with colleagues across development, campus events, grants, corporate engagement and leads strategic management discussions and decisions as part of IA's senior management team.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA) and President of the MCLA Foundation, Inc.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Associate Director of Alumni Engagement (ADAE); Advancement Communications Manager; Associate Director of Advancement Operations (ADAO), Foundation Controller (contracted position), and Foundation Property Manager (contracted position).
