UHealth Plantation is currently seeking a Chief CAT Scan Technologist. The Chief CAT Scan Technologist oversees computer-assisted tomography and maintains department supplies, equipment, and facilities to ensure the quality of services. This employee introduces and teaches new techniques to staff. Additionally, the incumbent maintains environmental, infection control, and safety procedures for the department.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Oversees the activities, workflow, scheduling, productivity, and quality of staff members.
2. Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
3. Verifies patients’ ID by checking their name and date of birth.
4. Obtains patient history, explains procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
5. Obtains necessary consent from patients before conducting procedure.
6. Maintains and cleans all equipment in accordance with decontamination procedures.
7. Notifies appropriate person of any change(s) in patient status.
8. Assists the radiologist throughout procedures with all the necessary supplies.
9. Follows safety, security, and infection control standards.
10. Prepares automatic injector with proper contrast and adjusts all settings and parameters according to procedure requirements and radiologist preference.
11. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Education:
Associate degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
ARRT registration
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experienceKnowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
• Knowledge of business and management principles
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
