- Ability to cope with difficult interpersonal situations, competing demands, tight timescales and evidence of influencing colleagues to deliver targets and changes in working practices, whilst maintaining effective working relationships
- Experience of working at Senior level in a large complex organisation (in or outside the NHS) as a clinical lead for IT & digital solutions.
- An understanding of the Digital agenda and Electronic Patient Record solutions.

- Management and/or leadership qualification (or relevant experience).
- Excellent communication skills and presentation skills: able to express complicated, multi-stranded concepts in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing and in a multi-professional environment. Confidently present information publicly using a variety of media in different settings to large gatherings of clinical professionals.
- Able to create / shape innovative strategic vision and plans for the best possible long-term benefit of patients, the organisation and health and care system.
- Examples of positive use of disruptive innovation to deliver sustainable change.
- Demonstrates support for the values and beliefs of the Trust with a strong advocate for transformational change through technical innovation.

Job summary
We are at an exciting phase in our digital transformation journey here at University Hospitals Plymouth with the recent approval of the business case for a Trust-wide Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution. Our focus is to provide digital care that is patient focus, clinically led, and this role will play a key part in shaping and driving this ambition, recognising that the optimised use of technology and data is critical to the future of the Trust.
We need the active involvement of a clinical leader who is passionate about positive change, can build an inspiring vision, and lead the delivery of the EPR and the Digital Strategy in collaboration with the digital leadership team including the Medical Director and Clinical Informatics team to ensure our future hospital digital vision provides a unified, digitally mature infrastructure across our integrated health and care system.

Main duties of the job
A key aspect of this role will be to encourage and support clinical colleagues to embrace the transformational change associated with the 'Digital First' agenda that will include leading the clinical engagement for the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme in conjunction with the EPR Senior Responsible Officer (Medical Director). They will act as the liaison between the Trust's clinical collective and the resultant Digital & Innovation Services change programme.
The post holder will be a strong advocate for transformational change through technical innovation and will actively promote and champion the development of a clinically appropriate information culture, as an enabler of change and quality improvement across the organisation.
The CCIO will pioneer new ways of working and promote the "art of the possible". They will lead on the promotion, innovation and transformation of clinical services and pathways using information and technologies across all medical professionals (consultants, doctors, junior doctors, trainees) to support and improve:
