For our office in Hamburg, starting at the earliest date possible, we are looking for a: Chief Commercial Officer (f/m/d)

Purpose of the role:

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) holds an executive-level position and is part of the Executive Leadership Team in the German Cluster with a focus on joint responsibility of Group P&L. The role is accountable for all aspects of sales performance with the intention to achieve, develop and drive sales performance and increase market shares of German Agency concurrently. The CCO will identify all development opportunities, investigate and exploit appropriate emerging markets, engage the sales teams in order to develop client portfolio. The CCO will represent the Group’s business interests and develop direct relationships with major customers of the German Agency. Further the CCO has primary day-to-day responsibility for guiding and controlling all sales, marketing, business development and ensuring that the Commercial team is fit for purpose.

Your responsibilities:

• Be an active participant in local strategy formulation, implementation and elaborate commercial strategy in line with overall company’s strategy and budget.
• Drive the sales activities of the Cluster set-up to maximize relationship with existing customers and develop further growth of the account base in all trades. Ensure the cluster business budget is delivered from a total revenue and volume perspective.
• Ensure functions of the organisation are aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives and oversee marketing activities and lead on the Agency marketing strategy with an emphasis on achieving market penetration and sales growth with a particular emphasis on cost-effective customer acquisition and market demand generation.
• Interacts and communicates with key operating partners, colleagues, partnerships in the German Cluster and beyond in order to ensure common understanding and clear ownership of sales performance and business development.
• Deliver strategic leadership for defining the commercial path to growth and profitability of the Cluster and the establishment of effective growth process and infrastructure.
• Develop collaborative working relationships within the organisation in pursuit of the of the company’s overall business goals.

You bring aboard:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in business administration.
• Understanding of macroeconomic and industry trends in the German agency markets.
• At least eight to ten years of experience in sales and senior management.
• Worked in the Shipping/Logistics industry for at least eight to ten years.
• Knowledge of German marketplace, including different sales verticals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
• Strong management & leadership skill with experience to build up a team and hands on mentality.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Willingness to travel.
