      Sign on Bonus Eligible: $10,000 (2 year commitment)

      GENERAL OVERVIEW:

      The chief dosimetrist is responsible for supervision of dosimetry staff in the network. The chief dosimetrist is responsible for oversight, training and implementation of all technology, policies, procedures, and systems related to dosimetry section at all sites in the network. Must have a commitment to provide the highest level of communication, collaboration, and interaction with all health professionals they and the staff interact with daily. Contributes to advancing the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute in research, community outreach, network expansion, and operations.

      ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Manage dosimetry section across the network including but not limited to performance evaluations, scheduling employees, productivity, disciplinary actions, budgeting, plan QA, and rounding. (40%)

      • Performs treatment everyday treatment planning (40%)

      • Participates in committees and meetings to assist in making important and strategic decisions to advance department initiatives and process improvement. (10%)

      • Acts as a mentor to employees/students and provides training courses to Radiation Oncology residents in the field of dosimetry. (5%)

      • Represents department at community outreach activities new technology implementation. (5%)

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Minimum

      • High School Diploma/GED

      • 5 years dosimetry experience

      • Certified Medical Dosimetry certification - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board

      Preferred

      • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree

      • 2-5 years of radiation therapy experience

      • 1-3 years supervisor/lead experience

      • Radiation Therapy certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
